TNR Application
Please read before filling out application
Thank you for caring for community cats! If you are the person feeding the cats, then you are considered the caretaker for that colony. Please fill out this application so we can determine if/how we can assist you with trap, neuter, return (TNR) services. Please note that there is currently a waiting list for TNR assistance and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as we are able. We can only offer TNR services in Hamilton County, TN and specifically in the Chattanooga city limits. If you are outside the city limits of Chattanooga, but inside Hamilton County, please go to heschatt.org/tnr to fill out an application.
The ‘R’ in TNR stands for ‘return.’ Any cat that is trapped, will be returned after they have been spayed or neutered, ear-tipped and received rabies and FVRCP vaccines. We do not relocate feral cats as it is inhumane and doesn’t reduce the number of feral cats in the area. Please read about the vacuum effect here.
If you have come across a friendly cat and want to find him or her a home, please contact your local shelter or rescue. We do not have a facility and are not an open intake rescue.
There is no charge for our TNR assistance, but we run 100% on donations. The typical cost per cat to TNR is $35. This does not take into consideration the cost of food, traps, gas, supplies and time. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at scratchcats@gmail.com.
